Booker and BBQ at The Betsy: A Sizzling Summer Soirée

The Betsy Wine Bar hosted another sold-out event on July 2nd, 2024, featuring the exquisite wines of Booker Vineyards from Paso Robles. The “Booker and BBQ” event was a perfect summer celebration, pairing outstanding wines with mouthwatering barbecue from State 48 Hometown BBQ.

Over 30 guests indulged in a feast of brisket, chicken, pulled pork, mac and cheese, coleslaw, and cornbread. The event was so popular that there were no leftovers, prompting me to make a second trip to State 48 for more brisket!

Booker Vineyards: A Legacy of Philanthropy and Fine Wine

Booker Wines has a fascinating history deeply rooted in the Paso Robles region. The vineyard is named after Claude and Dick Booker, who owned the land in the 1920s. In 2001, Eric and Lisa Jensen purchased 72 acres and founded Booker Vineyard. Initially, they grew grapes for other wineries, but in 2005, they released their first Booker-labeled wines.

The winery focuses on Rhône varietals and employs organic farming practices, demonstrating a commitment to both quality and sustainability. This dedication to excellence has earned Booker Wines a reputation as one of Paso Robles’ premier wineries.
