The Columbia Valley AVA, established in 1984, forms the core of Washington’s vibrant wine identity. Stretching across more than 11 million acres—spanning arid basins and sunlit slopes—it accounts for over 99% of the state’s wine grape acreage. Ancient Missoula Floods sculpted its gravelly, well-drained soils. The area’s long sunny days and cool nights give wines their signature ripeness and freshness. Once known for orchard fruit, by the late 20th century Columbia Valley had become synonymous with world-class Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, vibrant Chardonnays, and—more recently—distinctive sparkling wines. Treveri | Blanc de Blancs Brut

Crafted by Méthode Traditionnelle from 100% Chardonnay, this sparkling dazzles with aromas of green apple, lemon peel, and brioche. Producer Spotlight: Treveri Cellars
Founded in 2010, Treveri Cellars was created by Juergen and Julie Grieb, building on Juergen’s formal winemaking roots in Trier, Germany. Treveri is Washington’s only dedicated sparkling house and has elevated the region’s bubbly game—Treveri wines have been poured at White House State Dinners and the James Beard Foundation. Juergen’s European heritage infuses each cuvée, blending Old World finesse with Washington fruit.
